Lakeshore Lawn Mowing
Shaded bayou-side turf and full-sun Bermuda often share the same Lakeshore lot. We cut each one the way it actually wants to be cut — from $55 per visit, weekly or biweekly.
A typical Lakeshore lot is really two lawns wearing one address. Out front or wherever the sun hits all day, Bermuda runs the show — aggressive, heat-proof, and happiest under a low, frequent cut that keeps it dense. Back under the mature trees that give this Monroe neighborhood its character, the story flips to St. Augustine and centipede, shade grasses that need a taller deck and a lighter touch, especially once Louisiana's summer settles in. Run a single mower setting across both and you scalp one half or shag out the other. Our crews adjust the deck between zones of the same yard, because that is what turf this close to Bayou DeSiard requires.
The water adds its own rules. We finish every visit by blowing clippings off the concrete and back into the lawn — never down the driveway toward a storm drain, and never in the direction of the bayou. Grass left to wash into the water does nobody any favors, and a clean blow-off is part of the job, not an upsell. The same goes for soggy ground: after a heavy rain week, we wait for the lot to firm up rather than carving ruts into it to keep a calendar happy. Lakeshore shares the 71203 zip code with the College Bros shop, so makeup visits here are quick — the truck does not have far to come.
Pricing follows lot size, and the Basic visit is the same complete service at every tier: mow, string-trim the fence lines and bed edges, blow everything clean — with blade edging and weed control on every cut available through the Premium package, from $75 a week. Depending on how often we come, Basic runs $55–$75 per visit for yards under a quarter acre, $80–$115 for a quarter to half acre, $105–$150 for a half acre to a full acre, and $140–$190 for properties over an acre. Most Lakeshore lawns earn weekly service from mid-spring through early fall, when heat, humidity, and afternoon storms keep growth relentless, then drop to biweekly as things slow. Add-ons worth knowing about: fertilization and weed control timed to the long growing season, and leaf removal at $75–$600 when the canopy lets go in fall. Everything else we do in the neighborhood is on the Lakeshore hub, the full rate card is on the pricing page, and a standing spot on the route starts at /book.
Sunny Bermuda zones get the short, frequent cut that builds density; shaded St. Augustine and centipede zones get the taller setting that keeps them alive through August. The adjustment happens mid-yard, every visit.
Blow-off goes inward, returning clippings to the turf as free nutrition instead of sending them toward gutters, drains, or Bayou DeSiard. Driveways and walks are left spotless either way.
Bayou-side soil holds water after big rains. We push a cut a day or two rather than rut a saturated lawn, and because the shop is in the same zip code, catch-up visits in Lakeshore happen fast.
Northeast Louisiana turf grows roughly nine months a year, which means it also feeds nine months a year. Our fertilization and weed control program keeps lawns thick enough to choke out weeds instead of just decapitating them weekly.
Mature trees mean serious leaf drop, and a matted leaf layer will smother shade grass by spring. Leaf removal runs $75–$600 by volume and pairs naturally with the regular mowing schedule.

Per-visit pricing from the published College Bros Lawn Care Packages sheet; exact quote depends on the property.
Lakeshore mowing is priced by lot size and frequency: Basic service runs $55–$75 per visit for yards under a quarter acre, $80–$115 for a quarter to half acre, $105–$150 for a half acre to a full acre, and $140–$190 for anything larger, with weekly schedules at the low end of each range and one-time cuts at the top. String trimming and blow-off are included at no extra charge, and the Premium package adds edging and weed control from $75 a week. The exact price is confirmed for your specific property — the full table is on the pricing page.
Yes — bayou-side lots are core Lakeshore territory for College Bros. Crews trim carefully near the waterline, direct all clippings back into the turf rather than toward the water, and adjust mowing height for the shade and moisture conditions that come with waterfront ground. The property ends up looking right from the street and from the bayou.
Usually within the week. Lakeshore is in 71203 — the same zip code as the College Bros shop — so a new address here folds into existing routes with almost no friction. You will get a same-day response when you book online or call (318) 600-9123, along with an honest first-cut window based on the current schedule rather than a guess.
It depends on what is growing and where. Full-sun Bermuda in Lakeshore grows hard from spring through early fall and looks its best on a weekly cut; letting it stretch two weeks in June usually means clumping and an uneven finish. Heavily shaded St. Augustine or centipede grows slower and often handles biweekly service fine year-round. College Bros runs both schedules and will recommend one after walking your lot — and switching cadence later costs nothing.
Every Basic visit covers three things: the mow itself, string trimming around fences, beds, trees, and posts, and a full blow-off that leaves hard surfaces clean with clippings returned to the lawn — that detail work is part of the listed price, not an extra. Premium visits add blade edging along driveways, curbs, and sidewalks plus weed control in beds and concrete cracks on every cut, and active mowing customers can add an edging upgrade to a Basic visit from $20.
Yes. Overgrown lot recovery cuts are a standard College Bros service: the first visit knocks the yard down in stages so the grass is not shocked, and the property then moves onto normal per-visit pricing. Recovery cuts are quoted by condition — send photos or an address through /book or text (318) 600-9123 and you will have a number the same day.
Book your first Lakeshore cut online in about a minute, or call or text (318) 600-9123. Same-day response, usually same-week service, and a simple guarantee: not happy? We'll make it right.
